Undergraduate Chemistry Society
The Undergraduate Chemistry Society (UCS) is a recognized campus organization designed to provide an outlet for chemistry and biochemistry majors to socialize with each other, better educate the MSU campus and Bozeman community about chemistry, and to learn about career opportunities in various areas of chemistry. UCS is a student affiliate of the American Chemical Society, so members of UCS have the opportunity to subscribe to chemical journals at very discounted costs. The UCS participates in a number of activities each year:
- Annual fall BBQ
- Assisting with annual Science Olympiad
- Recruiting seminar speakers
- Raising money by selling safety glasses and molecular model kits
- Assisting with Undergraduate Awards Ceremony
- Performing chemical demonstrations at area elementary schools, the Museum of the Rockies and the Children's Museum of Bozeman to encourage children to participate in science.
