Iota Sigma Pi-Members at Large Award

Iota Sigma Pi is a national honor society for woman in chemistry with its main objectives
“to promote interest in chemistry among woman students, to foster mutual advancement
in academic, business and social life, and to stimulate personal accomplishment in
chemical fields.” This year, graduate student Rhonda Barton was selected to receive
the Iota Sigma Pi Members at Large Re-entry Award. This scholarship recognizes an
undergraduate or graduate woman in chemistry or related field after a three year leave
of absence. Rhonda graduated from McPherson Coollege in Kansas with a BS in Chemistry
in 2007 and worked as a laboratory supervisor for an environmental agency in Naples,
Fla. Rhonda will graduate in December of 2013 with an MS in Chemistry.
