Dr. NIcholas (Nick) Stadie will be joining the Department in January of 2017. Dr. Stadie is interested in the design and synthesis of novel porous carbon materials based on ordered, nanostructured surfaces with the ultimate goal of fine control of both topology and chemical composition. Understanding the unique physical interplay between these surfaces and energy-rich guests such as ions and small molecular fuels is of particular interest toward developing new directions in applications such as batteries, supercapacitors, and mobile gas storage.

Dr. Stadie is currently a research fellow at the ETH Zürich with Prof. Maksym Kovalenko as well as a visiting scientist with Prof. Brent Fultz at Caltech. Dr. Stadie received his Ph.D. from Caltech, where he worked with Prof. Brent Fultz and Dr. Channing Ahn.
