Research from the Bothner and Lawrence Laboratories is highlighted on the cover of the Journal of Virology

One of our own
Drs. Martin Lawrence and Mark Young can be seen sampling the hot springs in Yellowstone National Park on the cover of the latest issue of the Journal of Virology [80(16) 2006]. The cover highlights two papers from the department. A paper by Eric Larson, a graduate student with Dr. Lawrence, presents the crystal sturucture of a glycoslytransferase that has a fold not previously found in archaea or viruses. The second paper by Walid Maaty, a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Bothner's lab, used mass spectrometry to characterize the archaeal virus STIV.
